Dr Kulathevy Tewari

Dr Kulathevy Tewari

Dr Kulathevy Tewari is a thorough, solutions-focused GP who combines compassionate, collaborative care with a commitment to high clinical standards and evidence-based medicine. She empowers her patients through clear communication, shared decision-making, and a whole-person approach to health.

With a strong foundation in hospital-based medicine, Dr Tewari is well-versed in the tertiary care system, having previously worked as a Medical Registrar in various hospitals across NSW and ACT. This background informs her appreciation for the vital role of general practice—particularly preventative and primary care—in improving long-term health outcomes.

Her clinical interests are broad, with a special focus on:

  • Women’s Health: including menstrual concerns like PCOS and other hormonal conditions, pregnancy planning, antenatal care, postpartum care with lactation support (informed by her own breastfeeding journey), and a holistic approach to menopause
  • Reproductive & Sexual Health: Dr Tewari is currently completing the FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health, which enriches her clinical acumen in medical termination of pregnancy, sexual health, contraception (Implanon insertion/removal and IUD removal), and gender-affirming care
  • Men’s Health: she believes looking after men is an important aspect of general practice as it is often an overlooked area despite higher risks of certain preventable conditions and their lower rates of health service use
  • Lifestyle Medicine: Dr Tewari takes a preventive, lifestyle-based approach to managing chronic illness, aiming to address root causes and support long-term wellbeing
  • Skin Cancer & Dermatology: with additional training in dermoscopy through the Skin Cancer College of Australasia, she offers more precise skin checks and performs simple procedures, guided by her education in skin cancer medicine also via SCCC
  • Mental Health: trained in Focused Psychological Strategies via The Black Dog Foundation, she provides supportive, evidence-based counselling for common mental health challenges
  • Paediatrics: enriched by her completion of the Sydney Child Health Program, she provides thoughtful care to children and families

Dr Tewari is also a medical educator with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, driven by a strong belief in nurturing the next generation of doctors and staying engaged with ongoing medical learning.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys cooking, reading, learning to draw and watercolour paint as well as exercise reflecting her belief in whole person wellbeing.
