Dr Georgina East brings rare expertise to Walker Street Doctors—combining the breadth of general practice with the depth of experience that only real-world adventure can deliver.
Before joining our team, Georgina spent four years as Medical Director of Intrepid Polar, overseeing clinical care, logistics, and emergency response on expeditions to Antarctica aboard the Ocean Endeavour. She developed medical screening protocols, trained expedition doctors, and advised on critical incidents in some of the most remote environments on Earth.
Her background also includes work as an expedition doctor in the Arctic and Antarctic Circles, a ski field doctor in both Australia and New Zealand, and as a flying GP with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in remote Western NSW. Her passion for remote and extreme medicine has taken her from the Kokoda Track to Svalbard, from mountain medicine training in Nepal to correctional facilities in Melbourne.
Georgina is also a highly skilled general practitioner. She iscalm, thorough, and deeply attuned to individual patient needs. She has worked in inner-city clinics, COVID respiratory centres, emergency departments, and rural hospitals across Australia and New Zealand.

She is a certified provider in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, and Rural Emergency Skills (ACRRM), and holds post-graduate qualifications in travel medicine, mountain medicine, and remote & extreme healthcare.
