Telehealth at Walker Street Doctors: Healthcare That Fits Your Lifestyle

Telehealth at Walker Street Doctors: Healthcare That Fits Your Lifestyle

At Walker Street Doctors, we understand that your time is precious and that you have much better things to be doing that waiting for a doctor. That's why we're proud that 35% of our consultations now take place via telehealth – a service we've refined to perfection.

Why We Embraced Telehealth Early

When telehealth became essential during COVID, we didn't just adopt it – we embraced it wholeheartedly. We invested in high-quality video infrastructure and chose HotDoc as our platform specifically because of its user-friendly interface. Our team took the time to help patients become comfortable with this new way of connecting, ensuring everyone could access care regardless of their technical abilities.

The Benefits Go Beyond Convenience

While convenience is certainly a major advantage, telehealth offers so many more benefits:

  • Accessibility when you're unwell: No need to drag yourself out of bed with a migraine or flu
  • Family-friendly care: Keep your little ones comfortable at home instead of bundling them up for a trip to the clinic
  • Continuity of care: Connect with your regular doctor while interstate, overseas, or on holiday
  • Fitting healthcare into busy schedules: Squeeze in appointments between meetings without travel time
  • Reducing exposure: Minimise contact with other potentially contagious patients
  • No parking hassles: Eliminate the stress of finding parking in North Sydney

Why Video Telehealth Makes a Difference

At Walker Street Doctors, we specifically provide video telehealth rather than telephone consultations, and for good reason. Video allows our doctors to:

  • Observe your breathing patterns
  • Notice visual cues like pallor or flushing
  • Assess your energy levels and emotional state
  • Evaluate how you're moving and functioning
  • See visible symptoms like rashes, swelling, or inflammation

All these visual cues provide valuable diagnostic information that simply isn't available during a phone call.

Making the Most of Your Telehealth Appointment

For conditions involving visible symptoms (skin lesions, wounds, throat inflammation, etc.), we recommend taking high-resolution photographs and emailing them to reception@walkerstreetdoctors.com.au before your appointment. This allows us to have your clinical images ready in your file when your consultation begins.

Our Commitment to Flexible Care

Our doctors are not only skilled in telehealth consultations – they genuinely enjoy providing this service because it allows us to meet you where you are. We understand that healthcare needs to fit into your life, not the other way around.

Of course, there are times when physical examinations are necessary, and we'll always invite you in when in-person care is required. We'll work with you to find appointment times that suit your schedule.

Experience the Difference

If you haven't tried telehealth with Walker Street Doctors yet, we encourage you to give it a go for your next suitable appointment. Many patients who were initially hesitant have become enthusiastic converts once they experienced the convenience and quality of care we deliver.

To book a telehealth appointment, simply select the video consultation option when booking online through HotDoc or mention your preference when calling our reception team.
