bugs and food poisoning to sprained ankles, long flights, and disrupted routines, it’s reassuring
to know that your GP is still only a video link away.
At Walker Street Doctors, we remain available throughout the festive period to support you
wherever your holiday takes you.
If You’re Travelling Within Australia
You can access a Medicare-rebated video telehealth consultation with your usual GP from anywhere in the country.
While you’re away, we can also:
- SMS pathology request forms directly to your phone so you can attend a local clinic
- Send ePrescriptions to be filled at any pharmacy in Australia
- Provide true continuity of care, with a GP who actually knows your history, your
medications, and your health plan
It’s seamless, safe, and exactly how holiday healthcare should feel.
If You’re Travelling Overseas
Holidays don’t always go to plan. Whether you’ve had an unexpected injury, developed an
infection, reacted to local food, or simply can’t make sense of a foreign medical report, your
Walker Street Doctors GP can still help.
We can provide:
- Clear translations of medical speak
- Advice on what to do next
- Help planning follow-up once you return home
Important notes for overseas telehealth:
- We can only consult with you during the first 90 days after you leave Australia
- Medicare rebates do not apply to overseas telehealth
- Prescriptions cannot be issued while you are outside Australia
Even with these limitations, many of our patients find it incredibly reassuring to speak with the
GP who knows them best especially when something goes awry far from home.
