Specific areas of interests include women’s health, paediatrics, mental health, preventive health checks and counselling, and weight management Rachel graduated from the University of NSW with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Medical Science in 2008. She has subsequently completed a post graduate Diploma in Child Health (through Sydney University and Westmead Children's Hospital) 2011 and a Certificate of Sexual Health and Family Planning (FPNSW) 2012.
She has worked in hospital and general practice settings through Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, as well as short stints in various rural NSW and QLD locations, and will be joining Walker St Doctors from 2017.
She enjoys the diversity of general practice, and is particularly passionate about motivating people with the knowledge and resources they need to achieve optimal wellbeing in all dimensions of life, be it physical, emotional, relational or spiritual. Specific areas of interests include women’s health (from contraception and pregnancy, to menopause and beyond), paediatrics including the newborn period, mental health, preventive health checks and counselling, and weight management. When relevant, Rachel integrates nutrition, exercise and stress management into her treatment approach, and derives great satisfaction in helping people implement small but consistent changes that can make a big difference in their daily lives.
When not at work, Rachel enjoys playing with her young son and daughter, volunteering in her local church, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
